We have been offering children, ages 2 through 12 a challenging and enriched Montessori curriculum since 1998. We allow children the freedom to explore and develop a true love of learning, which they will keep with them long after leaving our school. Our facilities in Eagle and Boise, Idaho offer children a sense of wonder and security in truly pleasant surroundings. The classrooms are large and well arranged to stimulate interest, while still being cozy and comfortable. We extend the classrooms outdoors through gardening, exploring nature and bird watching, Our playgrounds include grass and sand areas and equipment to develop large motor skills and sportsmanship.
Our schools are approved training sites for American Montessori Society. We frequently present our program at Boise State University, Northwest Nazarene University, and local high schools. We are currently in the Montessori accreditation process, which upon completion, will make us the only AMS accredited Montessori schools in Idaho.
Since 2002, we have hosted the annual Treasure Valley Montessori Conference, bringing professionals and internationally recognized speakers to present new ideas and research regarding Montessori education. Teachers, administrators and parents from Idaho and surrounding states attend this conference.
Academic hours for preschool and kindergarten are 9:00 am - 3:00 pm or 9:00 am – 12:30 pm. with the exception of noted holidays. Elementary students attend 8:30-2:45 pm. Our before and after school hours are 7:00-9:00 am and 3:00- 6:00 pm.
The academic school year is September – June. There is no need to wonder what to do with your child during the summer. We offer a "funtastic" summer program, which includes various theme weeks, loads of water play, interesting guest speakers and special activities.
The staff is the foundation of the school. We are proud of our teachers and their dedication to the Montessori philosophy and the fields of early childhood and elementary education. In addition to their college education, our lead teachers are Certified Montessori Teachers.
Through continuing education and in-service training, our staff stays abreast of current developments in the field and brings these fresh and innovative ideas to the classroom. All of our staff is trained in the Positive Discipline and Adlerian philosophy of child development and behavior. Children are managed in a friendly, respectful manner. We maintain a low student to staff ratio and give children frequent individual attention.
Because we consider everyone to be a lifelong learner, we offer many classes for our families as well as the public. Parenting classes taught by marriage and family counselors are offered on site. Especially popular is our parenting class for dads, this year we have even introduced a coed parenting class, these classes also involve pizza, a huge hit with dads and moms! Our staff also attend these classes, which offer a great opportunity for collaboration between parents and teachers. Other classes offered include, demonstrations and explanations of the Montessori curriculum and philosophy.
Boise Montessori Parent Teacher Organization (BMPTO)
Our Parent Teacher Organization is another way to get involved at either Montessori Academy and Eagle or Parkcenter Montessori. The BMPTO's mission statement is: To fund programs that support and enhance the Montessori experience for the children, the parents and the staff.
Composed of teachers, parents, administrators, financial planners and community members, the Board of Directors of the BMPTO has created the opportunity to bring the school families together as a community. Working together we can raise funds in a variety of fun ways. Collecting donations from families and community members will raise funds to improve the learning atmosphere. Participating in national non-profit fundraising programs provides a simple way to contribute to our scholarship fund.
Scholarships are available for enrolled students. For more information regarding our scholarships please download a copy of our scholarship application here.
